Ground Breaking for Academy Villa #2, which added 16 beds to AV's total assisted living capacity, here, officers and board members of the Academy Services Corp.(ASC), the legal entity that manages our assisted living programs, wield the traditional golden shovels. These amazing people are ALL volunteers! Rincon Mountains in the background.

Sue Cotter, nationally-known bookmaker, presented a workshop here on making
Practicing Foreign Languages. Each week, Villagers interested in improving their foreign language skills meet around tables in the AV Café to converse and read in different languages. Pictured are three residents at

Historical Highlight: Did you know that Gabby Giffords has visited Academy Village twice?
Kath Macaulay, nationally known artist and instructor has arrived at Academy Village to teach “pocket sketching” with water color and ink.
Among other things, Village resident Henry Koffler, former president of the University of Arizona, founder of the Academy Village, and IPad Artist extraordinaire has an art opening at Ventana Medical Systems.
